Hey everybody

So here it is, the interview with Emily-Byrd . This interview is going to be in a slightly different format, but I hope you still like it. Anyway, here it is. Cheers.

shehrozeameen said the following:

Hi hun,

wanted to ask if you're ready for your interview :meow: ?

----------
EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

Yes! So how does this work, do you note me a list of questions? :)

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

yeah, That.

So, here's the first question:

What made you start writing, and how did you start on dA?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

I've always loved to write. Whether it was unobtrusively narrating my childhood (I promise I don't do that anymore) or thinking up stories as I fell asleep, my brain was always sifting through ideas. Paper was simply the place to put my imaginings.
I also became devoted to classic literature, and that really helped fuel the flame and improve my work.
As for dA, I signed on to share feeble drawing attempts. It was great to discover I could submit writing! I began by posting a few poems. When people actually read and commented on them, I was excited to write and share even more.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

Unobtrusively narrating your childhood? I believe that is actually a good start, and oftentimes it brings out the best stories and poems from a person. I haven't written from my childhood personally, but I have read a few which catered on that note.  Joyce for instance with "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man".

Classic Literature? Which one? And do you generally read Modern writers as well?

Which were your first literature submission on dA?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

Oh, yes. I never finished a satisfactory work, because I was so young, but I would turn out a lot of third-person whisperings when alone. It felt odd, but I think it really helped form some writerly instincts.

I deeply enjoy Tolkien, Austen, Lewis, Alcott, Dickens, and Bronte novels, among others. I tend to enjoy the wit and weight of time-tested works. Although I have read from modern authors, and some are genius.

Among my first written submissions were poems like emmiebeecreations.deviantart.c… and emmiebeecreations.deviantart.c…
I've just recently notice how most of my earlier works (from childhood and even last year) were solely nature poems. I've really enjoyed branching out.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

Those are lovely. Young, alive, and definitely something to ponder on. Stuff which defines your "vision of writing"/"stream of consciousness" so to speak.

And I love Dickens, Tolkiens, and Bronte. Charlotte actually. I think she's amazing. Wuthering Heights in particular.

As long as you remember being on dA, have you had any bad experiences on dA? Bullying or trolls and such? Or you feel that the better writers and people in this community diminish the impact of the bad people here?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

(Oo, Emily Bronte was the brain behind Wuthering Heights. Charlotte wrote one of my all-time favorites, Jane Eyre. :) )

I actually haven't had much experience with trolls here, which surprises me. A lot of my poems are openly Christian. Though I do think the writing community is especially respectful and encouraging toward one another, perhaps more so than other areas of the site. That's one of my favorite things about this place.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

(Oh right... always wind up confusing her with Emily. Charlotte was hot for her time, so yeah... probably that's why I do that. ^^; )

That is actually a very good thing. I'm glad. Although now I am curious. Christian themes? I usually didn't notice them in the works of yours that I have read. Any in particular which had them, and why they had them?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

To name a few pieces:
Trust Fall: emmiebeecreations.deviantart.c…

My Prayer: emmiebeecreations.deviantart.c…

Wings of Storm and Wind: emmiebeecreations.deviantart.c…

Faith in Jesus is a huge part of my life, and I hope to share that with other people.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

Those works sure do signify that aspect.

How old are you again?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

I am eighteen.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

That's good. having faith is a good thing - and I appreciate it being there in a person, anytime.

Do you listen to music when you write?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

Soft instrumental if any, but I love music, so it tends to distract me. It really depends on the kind of music and my mood.
I do find inspiration in songs, though, especially Celtic and folk. Those are good to dig up and listen to in order to kick-start my brain.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

That's interesting to know, actually. Celtic music is actually quite nice. I know, I've read more Irish folklore than any average Pakistani has so :bucktooth:

And usually soft instrumentals bring out some inspiring thoughts, in my opinion. good stuff.

Any dA artists you admire?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

Oo, I admire so many.

copper9lives.deviantart.com - Because she is a brilliant writer and wonderful person. She is always so kind to me, and I cannot get enough of her masterfully woven words!

quelchii.deviantart.com - For her unbelievable fan art. I am blown away with each new submission.

ferrohanc.deviantart.com - One of my favorite photographers. I aspire to have such a vibrant gallery as his.

ekukanova.deviantart.com - Her artistic mastery, execution, and imagination are stunning. And Tolkien. She illustrates Tolkien. Ahh.

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

That's quite a dynamic list you have there. Good stuff. :)

And well... final question: Any word of advice you would like to give to your readers?

----------

EmmieBeeCreations said the following:

As readers: keep reading, as always. Read old, new, different genres, poems - make time. There is no substitute.
As fellow artists: you inspire me. All of you out there, spinning new pieces of beauty and thought into existance... you blow my mind. It's magic. Keep going.
As friends: THANK YOU a million times over. I would hardly have the drive that I do without such encouragers. Thanks for being those people. The world needs more.

And thank you for the interview!

----------

shehrozeameen said the following:

Anytime :) Glad to do so.
