With the Princess in her Glass CastleIn a snowball
out of time;
wandering the roads
of her shawl
and her hair,
paved with
wild cocoa and thyme,
I am searching
for a rescue,
not hers,
but mine.
Like the snowflake
looking for home
after its silent ball
in her stare.

SoliloquyWe fall in love; we then get hurt,
so we do our best to avoid the worst,
opting for simple pleasures with simple pains
and taking modest measures for modest gains.
Though some heed the call to fortune,
and some stake their claim to fame,
we all wrestle with our demons,
knowing each by name,
like fire. What of this fire,
burning and pulsing through our veins,
by which continues to live the passion
we fight but cannot tame?
Should we but give our breath
to fuel this inner fire?
Would our pure life blood become
hedonistic desire?
Or would we simply satisfy
the whole we long to be?
Thus setting aside the struggle
and finding ourselves free
to wan

With serenity he walked coral beach
Delighted at sense of unknown

Sense of the past slowly generated
Momentarily he lost his will.

Sculptor's Prayer"Show me how the sun rises,
how far I have to march."
Grimy hair, weighted brow, muddy face,
bruised arms, knuckles bound, calloused feet,
burning lungs, smoking breath, eyes locked dead ahead.

"Just a little more time,
to make me whole,"
is that all I ask?

Cast from bronze
and broken marble,
mind like water,
always flowing,
always shaping,
"Challenged, paid,
sealed by night."

Form with function
awake to the world.

The warrior's call"I saw the breeze of midsummer's bloom;
the leaves aloft, kissing the autumn goodbye;
Like them I embraced my impending doom
wrought in sorrow... tears dropping from the sky..."
The warrior uttered his last words
And embraced his fate - the unheard
demise bound the army; for he was a conscript
embracing his fate, aloft, the autumnal leaves slipped...

I dream of DamascusDearest anon,
Kindly claim that bejeweled dagger and, as I feel the cold blade keenly on my nape, I ask you to cleanly cut through

At long last, I am released, relieved of my braids, my chains

Finding my own, I set free the nightingale caught up in her cage,
Hoping that someday I will once again hear her bird-songs of my bit of Bilad El Sham, my Suriyah

Desert me in Damascus,
Allow me to wander and totter to quench my thirst, solve my hunger and salve my wounds

Spiders and bears and misshapen trees,
when the swollen fruit drops it bursts into wren wings,
salamander tails shivering, the color of bruised plums.
It tastes so sweet, the tip of a beak.
With a straight pin, I peck at my arms,
a Pollock of blood, swarms of carnelian bees.
Sweet sweet stings. The poison sings.
They say hallucinations, the saints said visions.
"Ollie ollie oxen free," they call running through orchards,
the evening air loosening, a grace note of despair.
There was once an apple and it was bitten,
poor thing, all hell broke loose.
"Tell me what you see," he asks.

Burning LeavesYou prefer the putting out of fires,
while I'm lighting up anything

The dance of flames has always been
the mesmer of my ambitions
and day-dreams.

of the faded old man who haunts the place

I have always had a weakness for the Pink Floyd sound. So when I wound up finding myself with gold mines on bandcamp (which I recently joined and am contributing in), there was a lot of awesome sounds I heard.

The watchful respond, like ~Misanthrope0854 said, though sometimes with delay

A very interesting piece. The first line is what truly captivated me, that imagery of someone writing in vain whilst tears grace his/her face knowing that it will probably not be read, except perhaps the watchful few. It's fueled with sadness and emotions that are eager to be read, explored, touched and felt.
Alas they are not often perceived as such, and often disregarded/ignored.

their messages are taken with significant gratitude and sincere care. They are cherished, those who speak, and for that the person whom hears these words of praise brings it upon himself/herself to uphold what is the righteous thing to do - that they are heard, and responded to accordingly.
