Literature Text

I look out to the sky in wonder, a blue haze
ablaze with the clouds in all forms, a trace
of destiny which seeks out the asylum of my bride
who waits by those neverending columns up above
ambrosia guiding me into solitude, where I am
at peace with myself, where I am in the sanctuary
of that ethereal Avalon. How oft, I waited, but
all in vain. Lo! Do I see her, enshrined in the marks
of the white, like the amaryllis which blossom in
tranquil serenity. Her smile is but a fragment of my
unending search for happiness. This is my pursuit
My dream... the dream from which all dreams originate
From which I would find myself, swimming through
the torrents of baneful tragedies and nightmares
born out of the ashes of compromised fairytales
Her dream did I seek out, Her joy was that dream
Is it a crime to fight for someone, when the price
is but a sheer moment when she will smile?

What would matter when these torrents are
broken from... freed without any fear of being
consumed? limbo is the sanctuary of those
who are neither wronged nor right, for they
are driven by a need which is admirable.
I know, that in this dream, this dream among
dreams, I dreamt a dream, a beautiful dream
A dream I had dreamt before, many lone years
ago, but I was blind, I was hopeless, I was
a perilious state, as juvenile as the streams
of our neverending tragedies which are
just a lullaby for the anxious. The soul is an
interesting species - it never seeks solitude
it only seeks to be alive for naught, for it
does not know why it chooses to be alive
It seeks utopia, but what defines that utopia
is never known - nor could you know, nor could
I... but perhaps I might have an idea of
what could be considered a hint in describing that
utopia, my dear heart - my beautiful phlox, as white
as the dream from which I sought you - your smile
For is it a crime to seek you, in the hope that I
will be granted a fleeting moment to see you smile?

Blisters upon blisters, these hands are no more
a tangible part of my being, nor is this shell in which
I am seeking out the dream within the dream
a poor, devoid Morpheus who is neither able to live
Nor can assuredly die a noble death without being
entwined by the wonders of the dreamscape
where you wait for me, perhaps... or perhaps I am
dreaming myself... perhaps I have dreamt all along
And if so, why do I seek you? Thus do my eyes open,
For I realize, that I am truly awake, looking out to the
skies, where the stars awaken me, to the realization
that you are waiting for me, for it is late now, I have
to return. Such is the nature of dreams - why would
I seek that beautiful dream, I had dreamt before,
where you smiled for me, when I can see with eyes open
your smile... your most beautiful smile, like the phlox
which I hold in my hands, to carry with me back home
And place on the vase, for the truth is hidden in
your very being. Ambrosia pouring out in each article
you touch, my amaryllis... you are what I care for
and for whose smile, I embrace my life, in solitude
I originally wrote this as a note, but after much reading and significant consideration, I've posted it here on dA (since frankly speaking, its above 36 lines and can't be published conventionally :( )

With that said, I felt happy when I finished reading this work. With that said, I won't be altering it much. If you have any constructive critiques you're considering of giving on this poem, I would suggest you consider my other poems. I'm happy with this work as is...

This work is full of references, and frankly speaking, I feel that they should be mentioned where they're due. So, here they go:

dArtists:

Yume - Lady-Yume

lullaby for the anxious - a reference to your-methamphetamine and her poems (I can't remember which one though)

Morpheus who is neither able to live/ Nor can assuredly die a noble death without being/ entwined by the wonders of the dreamscape
where you wait for me, perhaps... or perhaps I am/ dreaming myself... -
nightshade-keyblade "The Beautiful Dreamer"

My own poems or prose:

I dreamt a dream a beautiful dream a dream I dreamt before - one of my poems which I wrote back in 2011. I'm not thumbing it because it sucks

my beautiful phlox - a reference to a work I sent to a magazine called "A letter to a saint". Much like this work, I haven't recieved a response yet. :(

where the stars awaken me - My prose piece "To the stars"

Artwork outside dA:

Distorted Harmony's "Kono Yume" - a big inspiration in the structure of this work.

Hayao Miyazaki - had just finished watching "Spirited Away" and I liked the art style of "The Wind Rises"

Anathema - "Flying" (the solo portion)

Hope you like it. Cheers

This carried the warm smell of summer with it. I definitely feel the Miyazaki element, as well. Beautiful!
